The only things I miss from my M9 are the speakers and the HTC apps. (I know you asked about the M8 but the 8 and 9 are similar enough... I had both.) M9 speakers were excellent. But everything else about the 10 is better. I noticed that instantly when I activated it.

My down button sits lower than the up and power buttons on either side of it. How about yours? I just recently noticed this after ten months with the phone. I hope there isn't debris or goop inside which is preventing the switch from standing tall.

I had that problem for a few weeks after ICS upgrade. Because I needed an alarm, I loaded a free alarm app from the Play Store. I didn't like the app so I uninstalled it. Then my native alarm app began working again!
