Once the phone notifies me of the system update, how do I permanenty prevent its installation and repeated pop=up notifications of its presence? I think I remember that I have to find the .zip file on the memory card and rename it or delete it? can someone verify?

You are losing Android 2.2, and the speed and performance that comes along with this great hardware/software combo. I'm not sure how much of the gret performance on Optimus can be attributed to the hardware vs the software, though. Maybe if the Transform was on 2.2, it would perform better...
