Settle for the G7 because of the price?

I would say the V40 has better cameras. The G7 has a smaller sensor with only 1.0 micron pixels, whereas the V40 has a 1.4 micron pixels sensor. 1.4 is the size used by the upper tier phones (Pixels, S9, etc) and captures more detail and especially allows more light for low light shots. The G7...

Tmo V40 - Just got a system update

I was a little surprised by the language that the update would AUTOMATICALLY go through if you delay it.

Tmo V40 - Just got a system update

I was surprised when I saw the update this morning. It was fairly large as well, like over 700 MB. security patches are usually smaller than that right? I was trying to check TMobile's website for info on the update but they didn't even show it. They still had the launch software version showing.

    "Camera Couldn't Connect" error

This has happened to me a couple times now. I'll try and open the camera app and it begins to open with a black background and then the error message pops up saying that it can't connect to the camera. I have to reboot the phone to correct it. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Re: S8 vs S7 vs S6 vs S5 - Camera (surprising) Wow those are some serious issues. Looks like the night photos are where it excels though

    GS8 Edge Panel Poll

I've never really used it on the S6e, S7e and Note 7, and the reason why I have changed now is because of all the third party panels you can get. I bought one for my Spotify playlists and it is awesome. I also like how they've added an edge panel for the Note 7's screen capture features. I like...

    MKBHD Camera Comparison

Really interesting to see differences on how the processing works on each phone. I seemed to be torn between the Pixel and iPhone, occasionally liking the G6 and S8. Of course the iPhone was absolute garbage in low light, but I came from the 7+ and already knew that. I haven't taken many...

Gear VR registration/approval/shipping/arrival info & also problems.

Re: Gear VR registration/approval/shipping info & also problems. I took the advice that I had seen on here and registered for the gear VR through the shop Samsung app. It was so much easier then any other promotion I've applied for, for any company. I was approved the same day I think, 4/20...

    Anyone notice the home button

I think that's pretty cool. I have a love/hate relationship with the home button, but mostly because of the vibration motor. That's good to know that it works even if it isn't visible. I know in another thread on here people were worried about the button causing screen burn in. Sounds like you...

Anyone having lag or stutter issues?

I was having lag issues the first couple days, so I started saying with the settings. I unlocked developer settings and changed animations to .5 and tried that for a day or two, but it just made things worse: the software started having glitches and dropped frames so everything looked janky...

    IMEI sticker on back

Yeah you don't have have the sticker on the back anymore. The FCC used to require that the information was physically printed on the back but they loosened up on that a few years ago, so sometimes manufacturers will put the sticker on instead. But it's not required for you to leave it on

    Getting my first update

I'm on T-Mobile and have just the regular SIZE. 395 MB seems pretty hefty so I'm wondering what this could be entail. No mention of the red screen issue. I'll have to follow up once I've installed it and rebooted.

Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG G6?

It really kind of does. It doesn't help that T-Mobile had it off to the side with all of LG's cheap phones. It didn't really stand out.
