Just a note to the OP. Wiping your phone (factory reset) won't take it back to Marshmallow. Just the barebones Nougat ROM. When an update like this is applied, it replaces what came from the factory.

It's not likely to cause major problems, but it's not the best way to treat Li batteries. They're happiest and retain capacity the longest, if not discharged below about 25%. This information is readily available if you search for it.

My Sprint S7 Edge on Nougat still has that option. Under Display. It's right under the toggle for Always On Display. I don't normally used it, but I just turned it on and it's working fine.
