[Beta] ZVJ rooting automation - please help test

That's correct. After entering a letter, the script is automated. Just hit keys anytime it tells you. As I found out, there's no need to do anything while the automation is running except telling it to continue by pressing keys. When you get returned to the menu, you follow the numbered...

I updated the other posts, but you might not be heading back to read those. I went through all steps again and refrained from doing anything by hand while the scripts was running. I'm updated & rooted! Thanks so much for the ZVJ-Love.

No idea, but I just did this again and, without the manual reboot on my own end, everything seems to be going smoothly now. I just got the update, radio updated, and have successfully booted as in step B.A.3. Sorry for the confusion. Edit: Updated & rooted! Thanks for the great work!

I believe rebooted, then hit a key to continue.

Prior to? Was I supposed to copy update.zip over manually? Otherwise, there would be nothing there to update (or so I thought). Update: Alright. So what are my steps now? I'm sitting in "Android system recovery <3e>" waiting for next step. Thanks for the help. Update2: ..wait, I never hit...

Trying to install update.zip now and getting (on phone): Do I need to send the update.zip over again even though it said it copied?

Same message, different stage: Ran this from ZVH, Stock, Rooted (confirmed by root check; got SU request during initial stages of using your software, too). Upon my initial run through, I got this:

I'm running rooted ZVH with custom (Xionia) recovery. Do I need to go back to stock recovery before trying this? Thanks for the great work!

Mostly dead, yes. I am hopeful that everyone's working on ICS, but who knows. Are you sure that you don't have your contacts filtered somehow? -->Contacts -->Menu/Settings(hard) button -->Display Options -->Choose the account in question -->Check what groupes are checked (or not)

I would suggest trying to download the zip file once again to ensure that your first download wasn't cut short. FYI, there's no need to rename the file; "installing zip file from sd card" is the option you should choose so as not to confuse yourself for future updates.

...wherever you downloaded it to or copied it to? You either had to download the grom update zip file to your phone or your computer. If you copied it to your phone, it's wherever your phone downloaded it to or wherever you told it to download to. If it's on your computer, then you need to copy...

...this is all assuming, of course, that you have already rooted your phone in ZVH and installed a custom recovery application... You need to reboot into recovery, then choose the Install zip from SD option. From there, you'll navigate to the location you downloaded the GROM installation zip...

THe native tethering application will crash when you close it. It's a known bug with the app from the google repository, which GRom uses. If you want a cleaner version, you can download it from the android market, but I think those may only work in ad-hoc mode or something.

Well I'm glad my suggestion worked because that's the only suggestion I would've had. :D
