Did you leave out any steps here? You say to allow gingerbreak to do it's thing... but nowhere in the post did you provide instructions for obtaining gingersnap for mac. Not trying to be a jerk, but I usually assume PC instructions aren't valid in any way for my Mac and unless it's explicitly...
