I literally just had an incident like this, and it isn't the first time I've seen it. Mine drops from 15% to 8% immediately. I've had it do this once before, both on 4.4 and 4.4.2 now.

Eh, not exactly. My guess is that Moto was really pushing to get a 4.4 variant to the G ASAP for sales and marketing purposes. Their developers were likely focused on getting everything set to update that phone, and since the X had already been updated to 4.4 almost entirely across the board...

No worries. The Moto X in the states received the 4.4 update before 4.4.2 was even released by Google. The Moto G was released after 4.4.2 was out, and so went directly to that instead of 4.4, a move that simply wasn't an option at the time the X received its 4.4 update.

*raises hand* Couldn't get rid of my Galaxy Nexus fast enough. Bought a Moto X within 10 minutes of MotoMaker coming online for Big Red. Paid full-price off-contract. So worth it. So very, very worth it. Verizon can pry my unlimited data from my cold, dead hands.

Assuming you're on Verizon (if not, I'm not sure this holds true for other carriers' models), you're actually looking for "CDMA auto (PRL)," not "EvDo only."

Well, the point isn't so much that there is X number of bloatware apps on the Verizon Moto X versus Y number of bloatware apps on [insert other carrier here]'s Moto X. The point is that the software differs in some way, and the hardware differs also (different radios for different frequencies)...

There seems to be some serious battery problems on KitKat. Battery was a heck of a lot better on 4.2. Hopefully Motorola addresses these issues quickly.

There seems to be a problem with excessive Android OS battery drain after the OTA. A factory reset seems to solve this problem. There is also a Google Play Services bug that apparently affects ALL Android devices today. Not a Moto X or KitKat issue, luckily.
