For clarification, are you trying to change the dock background, the dock icons, or both? The dock background is changed through the settings menu. Dock icons are changed by long pressing the icon you want to change and selecting the appropriate menu option in the popup.

I used the one click script. I tried the same script using instructions from another source, however, as I mentioned, they made sweeping assumptions as to what I should know to do and not do. For instance, there was no reference to NOT mounting the SD card and no reference to turning off media...

Thanks DroidXcon for supplying this excellent rooting guide. All the other guides I found online for rooting my wife's Fascinate made to many assumptions in terms of what the end user should know to do in the process. It wasn't until I found your detailed guide that I was able to make it work...
