I'm using aokp for 2 reasons. ability to seperate notifcation and ringer volume LED notification light will activate even when screen is on. Those 2 things were right at the top of my annoyance list with ics, and now I couldn't be happier.

No, you can't. If you'd read any thread on the subject you'll find the option does not exist in the android code any longer, and any app that relies on the old code, will break. These apps tell you they are working, when in fact they don't. It no longer functions the same as pre 4.0.

can anyone with 4.0.4 tell me if google separated the notification volume from the main volume yet? If not i'm going to switch to the custom rom that does.

I'm curious if anyone has any new information about this. Does anyone know if 4.0.3 fixes this? Or do any of the custom roms fix it? This is still a very annoying problem a month later.

Unless an app specifically says it will work for ICS for splitting sound, it wont. And that one does not. I too am interested if any of the custom roms will do this as I don't think 4.0.3 fixes the problem.

I realize this doesn't address your point directly, but you can get a program like Llama, a profile app. You can tell it to automatically open slacker radio when it detects your car Bluetooth signal.

Does 4.0.3 separate ringer and notification sounds by chance? I figure probably not, since they were already working on it before it was a widely reported problem. But a man can hope!

I don't think the multitask button functions the way we think it does. I'm fairly sure it's not showing all open apps, just a history of the apps you've used. So just because you use it to switch to the browser, does not mean the browser is actually still open when you do it. Conversely, if...
