I know from other posts, and other websites, voice to text can be acheived with the proper applications.

However, hubby is having a devil of a time trying to get his worked out. We downloaded Smart Keyboard Trial to see if that would work, and we do get the mic on the keyboard, but when he presses it, the box with the mic comes up with a red line through it.

This phone has the ability to take voice commands, so why is this so hard?

He is wondering if he has just failed to properly set a control somewhere.

If you have done this, and I do appreciate your time, could you give use some good instructions?

i got google voice search and then gingerbread keyboard from the market... if you changer the text input to the gingerbread keyboard you can do spech to text.... but may be able to get away with not dl'ing the gingerbread keyboard with the new update coming out
