Question No Manual Update for Gingerbread?

Received replacement but can't update to 2.3 manually. Is there a reason for this? Can someone advise if there's another way to update to 2.3 besides going to the Sprint Store (can take up to 1 to 2 hours as per Manager and told me "The software cannot be updated manually without the notification sent by the Google Over the Air (GOTA) ." Is this true?

You could check kyocera site, they might have it available but I am not sure.

Make sure your firmware and PRL etc are updated first. Make sure the device has a registered Google account and that Sync is activated. If all of these conditions are met the one possibility is that Kyocera authorizes phones for update in batches, meaning the 2.3.4 rollout is not finished.
