Is it possible to use a Pantech Breakout on Verizon's 3g network without an LTE SIM card installed? Not interested in using LTE.

Sadly, no. I tried using my Breakout on my standard 3g account and it would not allow me to proceed without ordering a SIM for the LTE service. It's a free SIM, and you get double the data for the same price you pay now (i.e: 5gb for $50 - with LTE its 10gb for $50). I said "the heck with it" and got the SIM so I could enjoy the phone. Extra data doesn't hurt, either!
