    Default Cell standby issue

Ok, so I noticed that my Echo shows time without a signal at 50% even though I have great signal.
I tried a hard reset, updating my PRL and profile but it doesn't fix it. Called Sprint and the tech's phone has the same issue.

Can anyone else with the phone report if theirs also shows 50%?

To check go to battery usage, all, cell standby.

Try turning airplane mode on for 10 secs and then back off.....that works on the optimus s....unfortunately it has to be done every time you reboot

Because the OS is looking for the other network technology, right? There is another thread here that lists the same issue. And supposedly the airplane fix also improves battery life, because the phone is not searching for unsupported networks. I need to experiment with that, since I've now got all of my software installed.

Argh. Okay, maybe there should be a sticky on resolving cell standby/battery endurance...?

Bug is still there after the update. This is really killing my battery.
