Beat me to it, I just read it at work.

Just bought the phone yesterday as a go between from Evo to Evo 3d. A nice little phone. And I have had the power issue when unplugging and the senor is slow. I cant hang up phone calls. - 06-02-2011, 07:37 PM #3

I'm having the same problem on my echo and I think its because I cant restore the echo top apps apk using tb. Ang idea how to flash back to stock so all of the original apps will come back? I have a backed up copy of the app but cant restore it in tb. Ive also gone through my tb backups to find the apk and if I try to install it that way it just fails...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ive already tried a factory data reset but that doesn't reinstall the missing app. I'm able to reinstall evening but the top apps app.

I received an insurance replacement of my Echo today and got the same 8507 error (I've memorized it at this point). After an hour with three levels of support having me do stuff I had done before, restart, factory reset, etc., They said I'll need to take it to a service store or get the insurance to send me another one. This particular update is not push-able from their end.
So something else is going on besides not matching the stock state - my current one is brand new today.

Yeah it's not related to being rooted. Same error if it was stock. Oh well, this phone was just suppose to get me by until the EVO 3d or better comes out by the end if the yearwhen my upgrade becomes available.

I had my phone replaced again today and it still won't apply the damn update.
When they flasged your phone did they just reflash the image at the store or did they just do a factory default?

YMMV – your mileage might vary, as in you might have different results.
The technician re-flashed the base OS image, I had already performed about three different resets by then (menu>privacy, battery pull, pound code reset through phone tech support), so that was not resolving the issue.
I am please that the actual update after it came up was an unassisted OTA as should be expected. If they had pushed the update locally I would be worried my system would not take the next update well either. As it is my system should be stable and consistent now.

I can confirm the above worked for me. I took my phone to the Sprint store today and they reflashed the OS. The update worked like a charm after that.

So, I guess, it's not because of missing apps yaa?? is there anyway to have this Stock ROM not in Sprint's store? cause I am living outside US now

I am not worried about this Maintenance release but if one day, Sprint conduct upgrade to Gingerbread via OTA, that would be a disaster for me...

I know. I'm assuming that if Sprint can reflash the OS than we should be able to download the files to do so ourselves.
I like this phone but the lack of Dev support is really aggravating.

It almost sounds to me like there is an issue with the stock software that comes loaded on the phone and that they reflash it with a version that is just slightly different.
As far as being outside the country I think I would try to contact Kyocera to see if they can help and provide insight or maybe a flash tool.
I like the phone and as long as Sprint adheres to the rules of the Android update Alliance of which they are a member then I don't see myself upgrading again for a while. If sw updates fall flat.... Well then I may have a problem.
