creating contact groups

Pantech Breakout - I'm trying to create email and text groups. I have hundreds of contacts in our company's "corporate" location but from what I've tried, you can't create email groups without manually re-entering the contacts into the phone. And from what I've read in other threads, people are having difficulty transferring contacts over. There's got to be an easier way to make groups!
