So, I have to admit:

1. Didnt have and Dont have the money to buy a samsung galaxy or and Ipad, so 103.99 + 38.00 S&H seemed like a great deal at the time.

2. Learning that cheaper is not better in this particular case.

3. Would like to make the best of it.

I understand the situation, when your on a budgets, things happen> I think there are a lot of better options for the money and many are worth the wait like the Kindle Fire or the Nook Tablet but it is what it is.

Does it have Market Access? if not your options are limited in terms of apps, sideload the Amazon App Store available here
Amazon Appstore for Android Getting Started

You also have the options of the getjar, and SlideME markets for more app choices though Amazon has the largest library

Rooting an unknown device isn't usually something you take lightly. Since it runs gingerbread your first and easiest option is to try and run gingerbreak

Download that app, move it to your tablet.
Have a formatted SD card in the device.
Turn on USB Debugging
Open the app, click root. and see if it works.
It may take more then one attempt, repeat two times if it doesn't work the first time, reboot after EVERY attempt.

It either will or it won't. the process could take a couple second or up to several minutes

I found I had to uninstall and rein stall some apps like Facebook and Words and update some more bit it worked fine. Haven't had a chance to check GPS yet but the camera is working fine as is my Wi-fi. So far so good. I'm not going to update to Flash Player 11 since webpages weren't recognizing that.

Now, if a stable version of ICS comes out I'll try that on here, too. I've about lost all hope for a Droid X2 ICS.
