Are all SD slots on board tablets being phased out or something?

that was the biggest selling feature for android tablets to me, I can throw my tablet at a client with the sd card in it right from my nikon and have them browse pictures right away, in a "fun & neat" way. I have a nice leatherbound legal pad holder I put it in, people are super impressed, I'm wanting to get a second one, newer, and can't find much other then little dock plugs that take the cards, I would prefer it to be on the tablet.

it seems now android tablets went from being bang for buck to same crazy pricing as apple, I really like the Xyboard :-\

any ideas?
