[Galaxy J7] Why isn't my gallery showing all photos?

I am using Samsung Galaxy J7. MY phone was working fine when suddenly now the pictures saved from Whatsapp, viber, Facebook or any other app does not show up on the gallery. They can be found from the file manager which means they do exist on the phone. Is there any setting which can be used to fix this new issue on my phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Using My Files, look in the directories where those photos are located. Do you see a file called ".nomedia" anywhere? If so, that file instructs the system to ignore that directory when scanning for new images to add to the Gallery database. You could try deleting the file, but the apps that the directories belong to might regenerate the .nomedia file.
