HI,

It is my wife's birthday and she wants a smart watch. If the Moto 360 too big for a normal 5' 8" woman's wrist?

Thanks,

Jerry

What sort of watches does she wear normally? I have a picture of it on my wrist somewhere though I'm super short but if I find it I'll post it just for an idea

Like I said just for reference. I'm much shorter than your wife but maybe with a more feminine strap it would look even better.

Don't worry about it being too big for someone not considered "short" . I love it, and I'm 5'6". With the growing popularity of smartwatches, I expect fashion to follow with bigger watches of all kinds. Nice gift ;)

Watch last Tuesday's episode of "All About Android" on Twit.tv. Gina Trapani, one of the hosts, spends a lot of time talking about the Moto 360. Her conclusion is that she loves it.

Her wrists are probably similar to mine if she's 5'-8 (I'm 5'-6 ,145 lbs. I have small wrists. Here's what mine looks like. 2 pics, slightly rotated on the second pic to hopefully give you a better idea of how it looks on a small wrist (about 7" in circumference). Also, women can pull of wearing larger jewelry-type items than men because they like bangles and stuff like that specifically to draw attention to the item.

I was thinking of this as a gift for wife too, though her watches have a small dial and she most likely say too big (for her).

however, here are some females wearing the current 46mm 360...

I'm a very small guy (5'3, thin...ish) and it fits my wrist just fine. I have very small wrists and I had to do some major surgery to the Pebble metal links band in order for it to fit me, but the standard band packaged with the watch fit me without no issues at all. I'm sure she'll be fine.

Here is a photo just for reference:

Thanks for all the great replies. (I was a little worried that people would think I was being sexist, but I just don't want to get her another birthday present that ends up in the closet.:-\) It sounds like it should work, so we are going shopping tonight. I will let you know how it works out.

Agreed. I used to travel around Asia a lot and wristwatches are a hugely popular accessory there (Hong Kong for example is the world's largest luxury watch market). Petite women would wear big watches and it invariably looked good.
