Moto 360 with Pebble Steel Band

So I am looking to put on the metal band for the Moto 360. Have people sorted out how to stop the cracking on the back due to the band? Is there a mod we can do to ensure this does not happen. Perhaps modify the pebble steel to limit it hitting the part of the plastic. I would love to hear peoples ideas on the matter

I'm not sure if the Pebble steel band caused it, but my back is also cracked. It hasn't affected the operation of the watch though.
