Trusted Devices/Smart Lock Failure

On occasion I get out of range with my watch and LG G3. When I return in range, everything automatically re-pairs, but the issue I am having is the Smart Lock doesn't seem to work after. I have to go back into Settings/Smart Lock and forget my watch and then re-add the watch in order for the Smart Lock to work. It's kind of annoying. Is there a workaround to this? Everything is up to date, all updates etc. I've replicated this problem several times.

I've never had that problem with my Moto X and my moto 360 being paired together. I wonder if it has to do with your phone?

It seems to have sorted itself out. I will have to enter the code once, and then it works normally.
