I'm reading in specs for the Moto E that on T-Mobile, you can only access 2G. Have I read wrong?

I think I have answered my own question. Looking at the review of the Moto E from Mobile Tech Review, the reviewer says that the Global GSM model can only access T-Mobile 2G/EDGE, but the US version can access T-Mobile 2G and 3G.

I don't think that is correct. I think the Global GSM version can receive 3G/HSPA provided you are in an area that has been "refarmed" By T-mobile. I bought one because I wanted to be able to use it in Europe and where I live in the US (Los Angeles) I get download speeds of up to 6.1Mbps which is well beyond Edge/2G speed.
