Why won't my Moto E phone charge?

My Moto E phone will not charge

My motto E is not charging, I left it on to charge over night and it stayed at 0% and it said tha on the screen, people have said if you hold the power button for 10-30 seconds the led will flash then the phone will turn on and charge. Instead, my LED light flashes like crazy and it will still not charge please help

It could have a defective battery. Did you get a wet or anything?
