Memory Partition on Moto E (2015)

Hello. I'm looking around for my first budget android phone and was wondering if someone can tell me if the 8GB Moto E has the "newer" type of memory partition so I can make full use of the entire 5/6GB after the OS for emails and messages storage? (I understand some manufacturers use the "older" style of partition so even with 4/5/6GB free after the OS, most of the stuff can only be stored to about 1GB of the phone memory?!).

Same question for the new and previous 8gb Moto G if anyone uses that to. Thanks.

I don't have either, but I would be shocked if they used the older partitioning system. I'm pretty sure they use the unified storage system.

My wife's got the Moto G 2013 and the available space out of the box was about 5gb. The same with the Moto E. It's going to depend on your carrier bloatware but not much.
