Why aren't my MMS appearing [Moto E 2nd Gen]?

MMS not appearing [Moto E 2nd Gen]

I have a Moto E 2nd Gen that is giving me MMS issues. If I have no conversations in the normal messaging app and someone sends an MMS no conversation appears for me to click. There's a 1 telling me that something is there, but it's not visible. My data usually stays off, but this is never an issue as long as the person sending it has a conversion tab. Please advise.
