Help, I need to root moto e with 5.1 operating system

I need step by step instructions on how to root a moto e (2nd gen) with a 5.1 operating system (lollipop), please if anyone could help I'd seriously appreciate!! My go to guy for everything tech, my big brother bobby, just passed 2 months ago. I'm at a loss on a great many things.
