Why is my Moto E Audio glitching?

Moto E: Audio jack problems

So, basically for my mother just bought me a new Moto E. It has worked fine but about 3 days ago in my gym class I was listening to Spotify. I got off the treadmill and layed my phone on a bench. I came back and tried to listen to it and it just decided not to play.

With multiple pairs of ear buds including "bears by Dre" I tested it and it never worked. It would glitch threw my phone speakers. I would unplug my ear buds and audio would play threw the speakers.

It is still doing this and I need to fix it. Can anyone help?

The earphone jack is damaged. It has to be replaced. (I don't know if they'll cover it under warranty. If you say it just stopped working, and leave out all the stuff about the gym, they might. What probably happened is that the cord got yanked - maybe by someone passing by - and damaged the jack. Damage may not be covered, so the less you say, the better. Normally I wouldn't tell you to cheat like this, but it's only probable that the cord got yanked - the jack may just have been defective.)
