I had the same issue. I did a simple task and it started working.

Go to Settings-> Apps -> All -> Settings -> Reset app preferences.

It started working immediately after I did this.

Try and see. :) All the best.

I had also faced this problem and find out this solution:

go to Settings-> App ->Google Play store

1) do forced stop.
2) Clear Cache

restart your phone

go to play store and download app. Make sure you have a valid data plan or wifi.

It might be fix your problem.

1.When U r downloading UPDATES of an app Don't use UPDATE ALL button in Playstore, instead go to that particular APP's page and click on UPDATE. It should work 5n.
otherwise
2.Go to Settings -> Appa -> "Your App" then click CLEAR CACHE and then try point 1.

Go to Settinggs -> Apps -> All
Then Google Pay store and clear cache and clear data.
Also do the same for Google Services Framework
Start Play store and try few times to reload it if you get some error message.
This is working for me when I had same issue with Facebook.

Mine in MOTO G 2nd gen set
First time messenger for fb has no problem of installation , but on unstallation and again reinstallation, unable me to install any of the application in my mobile.

I had tried with these suggestions -
1. Go to settings->Apps->Google Play-> Uninstall Updates
restarted my mobile and again tried to install an apps. It starts installation , but stops after 91% sometime 99%

2. Go to settings->Apps->Apps-> All ->settings '....' (Reset all apps preferences)
restarted my mobile and again tried to install an apps. It starts installation , but stops after 91% sometime 99%

Please help me out someone.

Your response is from 2014, but I was having the issue now and it looks like your solution may be fixing it.

Thank you so much. It's a bit of an emergency situation!

Thank you for this tip after trying unsuccessfully to get help from the playstore and my carrier for months now this tip finally did the trick and saved me from buying another phone which I really couldn't afford. You're the best!
