Moto G Dial Pad Not Working During Call

I bought my Moto G two months ago and have had no problems until today. Now, when I make a call, if I need to use to the dial pad to enter a selection from a menu or a password, the phone doesn't recognize that I've made a selection. I've already tried earaing my data and resetting the phone but I still have the same problem. I've also cleared the cache and forced stop the dial pad and the dialer storage. I've got Boost Mobile so I'm not expecting much when it comes to customer service and I'm hoping that I don't have to buy a new phone. It's running Kit Kat 4.4.2. Any suggestions for a simple fix?

Welcome to Android Central! How long are you holding the number keys down for? Just a short tap, or for a longer press?

Short tap and long press. It's as if the phone does not recognize that I am entering a selection while I am in the middle of a call. Otherwise, the touch screen works with everything else including opening and using apps.
