    Hi. Can anyone tell me why I don't seem to be able to use mobile internet when my phone has a little G next to the signal bars?
    Sorry if this is a noddy question but I'm new to all this.

    Welcome to Android central! I'm not sure, but I wonder if the G means the data connection is EDGE (which is slower than 3G). If so, the data connection might be so slow that it seems that it isn't really working.

    G is even slower then edge, because when ur using Edge, there will be an E next to the signal not a G.

    I believe G is just something like 1G lol. because edge is 2G.

    I think the G is for GPRS. Technically 2.5G depending where you are in the world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genera..._Radio_Service

    EDGE (or EGPRS) is an extra "bolt on" to most 2.5g networks. Making edge technically 2.75G
