Why is my camera activated upon unlocking my phone?

Camera Activated Upon Unlock

I am not a techie so, please, if you can answer my question please do not presume any particular knowledge on my part.

Whenever I "swipe" my phone to use it for something, the camera is activated. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Is it when you're swiping in any direction or just one direction? Because on stock Android, which is pretty much what the Moto X runs, when you swipe to left on your lockscreen, it activates the camera....but it shouldn't if you're swiping to the right.

Thank you for posting a reply. As you suggest, it is only if I swipe to the left that I get the camera. If I swipe to the right, nothing happens - the phone remains locked. But I do not want to get the camera when I swipe to the left - I would rather have my "main" wallpaper page. Any suggestions?

I think it's just a question on where you start the swipe. The camera will open every time you start from outside or from the right edge of the screen. Try starting the swipe well inside the screen and it won't happen.
