MOTO G WIFI connects but constantly seeking IP causing extreme battery drain
Moto G purchased over 1 yr ago Verizon prepay. Android ver 5.1 Sys ver 221.26.7 falcon_cdma,Verizon.en.US Build LPB23.13-33.7 Recent Op sys update from 4.4 to 5.1.
Phone constantly seeks WIFI connection, gets connected with excellent signal then drops and seeks new IP address. Have tried: turning phone off and on; WIFI off and on; disconnecting Blue Tooth; disabled network notification, avoiding bad WIFI connections; and everything else suggested that I can do with my phone's settings. Nothing seems to work. My wife's phone is identical to mine and hers has same problem... This all started when we returned from a trip. We both used two secure WIFI networks at two different locations while traveling. Neither friend whose WIFI we used has had any problems with their WIFI setups. HELP!!
