App that you can use with OTG?

I have the 8GB Moto g. The problem is there's really only 5GB of usable space. I'd like to put my music on a microSD card and use this: Meenova.com, Welcome to get it on the Moto g; however, I'm unsure if an app can play a music file from it. I don't want to root it and would rather not spend money on the app (but I will if absolutely necessary). Is there an app that will let me play music from the Meenova? Thanks!

X-plore File manager will let you browse and play/view remote files from any mounted drive.

But to the same point you can also stream over Wifi with it.

The recent 174.44.1 build and 176.44.1 build of Android 4.4 update for Moto G re-enable external USB storage -- after installing the update, you no longer need the Apps listed above to use Meenova reader; you can access it directly from file manager Apps and other Apps. External USB storage is now located at "/storage/usbdisk".

So I believe apps will have access and the devs just have to add it to their app's code.
