Screen is 4 inches only

I measured the screen with a ruler and it was only 4 inches, it's supposed to be 4.5 inches. Maybe I'm measuring wrong. But I measure from the top display to the bottom. Unless I'm supposed to measure from the top display all the way to the end of the phone, then it's 4.5 inches.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you measuring diagonally? That's the convention for screens, including TV screens.

Oh, thanks! I thought you measure it vertically. I guess I've been measuring screens wrong my whole entire life.

The OP wasn't trying to find problems. He was only asking about the screen size, and then realized that he had been measuring it incorrectly.
