My Moto G Lag has been getting hot and draining fast this week?

Anyone had this experience? For the most part, this thing has great battery life but this week it has been getting quite warm and it drains 15-20% while in my pocket during the work day with minimal use. Typically it would only do around 5% if not touched.
No new apps were installed either. Any tips or tricks??? Thanks!

Can you post screenshots of your battery stats, please? That might show any wakelocks.

Could also be a rogue app, working overtime. Also, do you have the 1st gen Moto G, or the 4G LTE Moto G, which has an SD card slot? If the latter, do you have an SD card inserted? If a file has been corrupted, the system's Media Scanner can get hung up on it and cause a lot of battery drain. Try unmounting the SD card (Settings>Storage), removing it, and rebooting.

I am a moto g user from India and experiencing the battery drain after the 4.4.4 upgrade. Mine is 3G 16GB version. Done the factory reset even, but no success yet. Not able to find out the real culprit of drain after observing the battery usage. Cell is not heating and performance is excellent but draining like never seen before with this rig.
I have tried both Dalwik and now using ART but both has same issue.
Please post if anybody get to know a solution to troubleshoot the issue.
