A friend needs a phone upgrade
The Moto X (2014) 16GB is running low and phone freezing up.

The Moto G Plus (5th Gen) seems like a perfect phone for a normal person.
  • 2017
  • Android 7.0
  • 5.2" screen
  • 32GB
  • SD slot
  • $230

The problem is only 2GB RAM.
To get 3GB and 64GB storage, it's $299.

Once you're at $300, what's the next step up?

Good call. This is a great phone in this price point, right?
What is the advantage of spending $500+
This G5 seems to have it all.

It is a decent phone for the money. It's fast. Having 64 GB of onboard storage is nice. I popped a 64 GB micro SD card in as well. The screen could be better but again it's 299. As Ry mentioned no NFC so if you use Android pay or something similar you're out of luck. I don't so that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I usually turn of NFC anyway.
