Motorola connect 3rd party sms apps

Motorola connect works great. However if I use a 3rd party sms app sms notifications don't come through.

I think this is because it hijacks the sms notifications.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you disable the default notifications or messaging application?

Nope, I kept those on. I have tried maybe a half dozen 3rd party SMS apps and the only one that works is Sliding Messages. I think this is because it still lets the default messaging app get notifications. You have to go into the stock app and turn them off to stop duplicates.

Not a huge fan of the app (performance issues) otherwise would stick with that.

Otherwise I am going to try a different SMS to computer solution.

Once you install a third party SMS client, you must disable notification in the default messaging app, otherwise either the new app will not function properly or the stock one, or both. The help files of the third party messaging clients usually provide pretty good instructions, so take a look there
