Is there a way to add or remove people from a group text string?

Had an issue this weekend where I wanted to add someone to a group text reply (NOT a "group" in contacts), and also remove someone else, but found no way to do it. Is this really not possible?? Seems like it would be such a simple feature.

I don't think that's possible. Seems like a privacy issue for the group involved.

...for example:
Let's say me and the boys have an ongoing group message. Then, at some point in the shenanigans someone adds my wife to the group.
No bueno.

Good point!

(Although someone could just forward them if they wanted to.)

But what if you make a new friend and want to add them to the group? That's really not possible?

Yes it's simple... As long as you can see the menu option, but you can't see it lol
Go the the message
Click on the menu (to the left of the home button)
You can't see it, just click on opposite side of the back button, that is the menu option
Located on the bottom of your phone
It will display a list of options
Click on add recipient
Then you will see the names with - sign
Click - to remove recipient
Or add recipient by typing their names
