That is the question.

MotoMaker says you are. Others say you aren't.

Are you supple, or slippery?

Your answer will determine whether I buy spice or ebony.

TIA

Sure it's a bit of a pain, but you can send it back once. So if the soft touch is lacking, you're not stuck with it... you just have to wait longer for the ebony one to arrive.

Just ordered a crimson back thinking it was soft touch. Unfortunately it wasn't

That's disappointing, that means the website description for the warm colors ("soft, scratch-resistant finish") is flat out wrong for some or all of the warm colors.

Oh well, Spice (another warm color) was one of my favorite options, that's steering me towards wood or leather.

So how do you like the color Crimson color in person?

It was a nice color. Darker than red. If it was soft touch I'd keep it but I plan on returning it for black if that's the only one that's soft touch. Does anyone else have input on which colors are soft color?

Last year dark colors were soft and grippy and light colors were hard and slippery. Is it not the same this year?

I was going to get a spice back Moto X, but I decided to wait until I see some real life pictures of it. Bamboo looks so much better than the renders made it out to be.

I had a navy blue back last year, and it was soft and grippy. This year I ordered purple (also a darkish color) and it's definitely not as soft and grippy.

This has been answered in a few places:

The black back is the only soft-touch color.
