Moto X 2014 Does Moto Voice work offline?

I do not own a data plan and I would like to know if Moto Voice can help me with:
- Sending / Reading SMS while I am driving
- Making calls
- Setting up alarms
- Setting up a silence mode (Good night)

All these functions do not require an internet connection when used by tapping but I need to know if it will work with moto Voice / Google Now aswel.

So I just tried putting phone in airplane mode and it basically gave me the screenshot attached. The custom launch phrase is picked up, but commands cannot be processed.

I then turned off airplane mode, turned off mobile data and turned off WiFi, only cell radio for voice and SMS was on, here are my findings..

The custom launch phrase works and does enable for some commands.

Call a contact = works
"Good Night" = works
Send text = :-(
Set alarm = :-(

:-( = moto blue screen says: "Sorry, there seems to be data issues"

As for the SMS reading feature, I guess this is not a Moto Voice / Google Now thing, it is a Moto Assist feature. So I am fine with that already!

My Moto X should arrive in 10 days or so. I am so excited!

Here in Brazil we can just have 3 premade models so I went with the bamboo back because it is so different and elegant! I am really excited about it. Can`t wait!
