Pretty cool at first but the type of bloat I was hoping to never see when I got a Pure Edition. I would like to be able to install and uninstall it on my own accord.

When I go to disable it, I get a prompt that says disabling manufacturer installed apps may cause errors with other software (something to that effect)

Anyone disable it and it causing problems elsewhere? Same for the stock email app. I only use the gmail app.

Other than that, I absolutely adore this phone. Best I've had yet (coming from Notes 1-3). Did a clean Lollipop install first thing upon unboxing. Love that too. Camera isn't the greatest but I do realize that this is a phone with a camera, not a camera with a phone. It serves its purpose for me.

You will get that message with almost any app that you can disable. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It is a fun app though.

Thank you much for the reply. I actually did about three factory resets to make sure it wasn't something that was installing automatically from my Google Play account. After reading about all the issues people are having with the Moto X and 5.0, I was afraid it may cause problems. Maybe I'll wait till after the next story :)

For the most part, as long as you avoid disabling any app that starts with a .com, or has the android icon next to the app, you shouldn't run into issues.

I routinely disable Spotlight but then enable it whenever a new Spotlight video has been released. After watching it, I then disable Spotlight again and have never had a problem.

That sounds like a good idea, thank you

Has anyone been successful at disabling the stock text messaging app? Testing out Google messenger and I like it so far. Previously used Hangouts.

To my knowledge, that has to stay enabled for third-party apps to work. Maybe I'm completely off on that, or it has since changed, but I'm pretty sure that at least used to be the case. I use Textra. I just have my stock app enabled with notifications turned off and hidden from my app drawer.
