Hi everybody. Ive just read that Lollipop 5.0 should have a Factory Reset Protection kill switch that makes any thieves have to enter your Google account details before they can factory reset your phone. Its supposedly something that you turn on in settings but I can't find it anywhere. Or is it now coming in 5.1?

Im "thinking" it will be in 5.1 .

This quote :
Security is high on the list as well, with Device Protection. Android will now protect your phone from intruders even if a factory reset happens on a stolen device. Google promises this new feature, which essentially binds your device to your Google account until you say otherwise, will be available in almost everything that ships with Android 5.1.

Ahhh thanks everybody. Sounds like a potentially useful feature. Just need to wait for the 5.1 update then

This will be useful feature if bootloader still be preserved from unlocking by Moto or third party tools, or like with Apple - there is many suppliers on market with "such protection" removing service.
