Interestingly different....the Play is the one I'd go for.
Not US though.
Motorola announces the Moto X Play with a huge battery, set to arrive in August | Android Central

I assume it has an amoled display.

Anyone have any idea how the 615 processor compares to the 801 for the 2014 X or the 808?

I am sure the user experience difference will be negligible, but for conversation sake.

Or wait for a bumped up spec version to hit Verizon as a Droid.

Yeah, I'm quite liking what I see about the X Play. The screen-to-body ratio is good (77%) so it's not so big. And Dual SIM yeeeeeees
