Can I have separate notification alerts for text and email?

Hello all. How do you set the notifications on a Moto X Pure to have one type of notification for text messages and a different notification for email?? So far loving the Moto X

You will have to set the notification you want from within each app if don't want them to use the default.

I can get it changed in the text message app settings but cant find in the gmail settings?

Settings ---> Choose your mail account (you can have different sounds for different accounts, as I do) ---> Choose ringtone

Settings>email address>inbox sound & vibrate
After you open settings in gmail, click on the email address, not general settings.
