6.0 Marshmallow: USB connection options

Yes, this is a step backwards. Some of would like it to default to MTP and stay that way.

I'd prefer a plain USB storage mode, and a way to set a default.

"Unfortunately, settings has stopped" is all my MXPE on marshmallow says on two different phones. any help?

This is a pain....They should go back to the old way or at least give us an option to set default behavior.

I totally agree! Every time I plug in my phone when I get into the car I have to then swipe down from the top and choose a different connection method for the car to recognize Android Auto because Marshmallow defaults to USB charging. It's soooo irritating! Why can't we choose a default connection method?! I'm actually using AA less because I'm sick of having to plug it in and change the connection method every time.
