The only method I knew of to root the Moto X was through PwnMyMoto or MotoRoot, which supposedly don't work anymore on the new firmware. So, there's no root method working now, right?

but i think if you root it with old method you can keep the root after the update. not sure but worth looking... "Google It"

This is correct. If you HAVE NOT taken the camera update you can root then go through the steps to keep root. (Look on xda) If you have already taken the update, there is no root method that I am aware of.
