Gsm or cdma???

hi there

i bought my moto x about 3 days ago didnt try to activate it untill yesterday but noticed it was u.s. celular and read that it was cdma i was wondering though why does it have a sim tray can i use it for both ?? cdma and gsm?? cause what i want is to use it on gsm and if i can does anyone recomendo any website where they can sell me the imei unlock cause i also read the code

The SIM is for the LTE portion.

I'm pretty sure that the Moto X isnt considered a global device. If you want to use it on GSM networks you would need to get the phone with the GSM radios.

Phone arena has the GSM and CDMA models all listed under seperate model numbers with the primary changes between them being OS and radios.

You are correct, after a little digging it looks like the Verizon variant supports the following radios:

LTE 750 / 1700
WCDMA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
CDMA 850 / 1900
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900

However, OP states his particular model reads US Cellular, the radios supported under that specific model are:

LTE 700 / 850 / 1700
CDMA 850 / 1900
