Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF): What kind of benefit to expect?

One distinction of the Z "Force" is that it's camera comes with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). I know that in the camera industry this is a very desirable feature since it allows for faster focus acquisition. What should we expect the effect to be in the phone? Are there other phones that had this feature and did they significantly improve focus?

So, it depends on the implementation of PDAF but it looks like at its worse, it's 20% faster than Laser focus and 100% faster at best.
