Have you tried rebooting? If that doesn't work, have you tried a third party app and see if that works? (Chomp SMS is beautiful on my Charm.) At least that way you can see if you can isolate the problem to that one application. Since I started using Chomp I no longer use the Charm's built-in messaging app.

Yes try rebooting then if it persists then factory reset. I use Handsent SMS, works great but go into messages and under settings disable auto-receive and notifications so you don't get doubles. I never liked the stock messege client anyhow.HTC Desire / CyanogenMod 7.1
