[Droid 2 Global]

I am wondering how to change the default alarm tone on my Droid 2 Global from Verizon to any tone I have on my phone. I know how to change an alarm tone when I add an alarm, but I'm wondering how to change the default alarm tone--the one that's already selected when you go to add an alarm.
Is there a way to do this without rooting the phone, such as with an app? Now I know I can set a default alarm with the Zedge app, but I believe that's limited to Zedge ringtones. Is there a way I can pick any tone on my phone for the default alarm tone? If I have to root it, what's the simplest, safest way to do it?

I don't think its possible because I would imagine its programmed into the clock.apk

it can be changed for each new alarm, you have to reset each time by choosing a time and it will then give you the options
